2009 Ford F-150 TruckSTAY “COOL” IN FORD’S F-150
2009 Ford F-150 Truck

By: Melanie Droz

In the extreme, summer heat of Phoenix, I was fortunate to drive the “COOL” 2009 Ford F-150 this week. With a $45,195.00 price tag on the model I drove, there are several elements to brag about.

In addition to the White Sand exterior color that made me feel like I was sitting on the beach, the tan leather trimmed lounge chairs inside kept me chilled with the cooled passenger and driver seats. They also come with heated option, which us Phoenicians will never need when it’s 120 degrees outside.

2009 Ford F-150 TruckAnother cool aspect of the 2009 Ford F-150 is its off-road capabilities. This all-terrain, 4X4 Supercrew has a V8 engine with 20” aluminum wheels, which will comfortably take you along some rough territory. However, the only rough territory we experienced with the F-150 was parking the large-sized truck. Thank goodness it comes with a rear view camera and reverse sensing system.

The interior of the Ford F-150 is also fresh-looking. Some of the comforts included: a leather wrapped steering wheel, memory driver seat pedals and seat, Sirius satellite radio, Sony navigation radio, and power moonroof. Since I have two months off for summer break, I spend a great deal of time driving to visit family and friends that I don’t get to see much during the school year. Therefore, it was nice to enjoy these comforts in the F-150 while driving to Sun City, Chandler, Scottsdale, and Surprise.

2009 Ford F-150 TruckLuckily, the F-150 comes with a chrome step bar, so getting in and out of the large truck was made easy. The F-150 also makes towing easy with front tow hooks, 4 pin trailer wiring, trailer sway control, trailer brake controller, and trailer towing package. Although we didn’t tow anything with the 2009 Ford F-150, we imagined how wonderful it would have been to bring the jet skis to the lake while we were sweating walking from our 3rd floor condo to our parking space.

As much as I enjoyed the 2009 Ford F-150 cooling us down in the Phoenix heat, I would have liked to take it for a road trip to San Diego, However, with only 14 city mpg and 18 highway mpg, it would have been an expensive trip. On the other hand, who needs San Diego when the F-150 offers so many “COOL” qualities.
