2009 Dodge Challenger R/TNew Excitement for the Pony Car Wars
Challenger, one of the most iconic names from the pony-car era has returned to the Dodge stable for 2008 after a 35-year hiatus. The design of the new Challenger, remains true to its heritage, but of course benefits from modern technology to deliver a whole new level of comfort along with performance.

2009 Chevy CobaltChevy gives the 2009 Cobalt SS a booster shot
Boost! It’s a magical thing. Just the name alone evokes visions of a spacecraft screaming through the atmosphere at warp factor speeds with a trail of fire spewing out the back. Boost, in the automotive world, can transform two liters into four and four into eight. It can take a small power plant made for economy and turn it into a power house made for embarrassing unsuspecting sports car drivers.

Bondurant Red CorvetteBondurant School of High Performance Makes Bill Z… A Safer Driver in One Day
It was with a bit of trepidation that I pulled into the parking lot at the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving to take the Highway Survival Training course on a beautiful summer day in Phoenix. Having gone through the one day racing course a couple of years ago I knew better then to think that I was going to make it through the day feeling good about my driving skills.

2008 Audi S5Audi’s sizzling S5 Quattro
I’ve had the good fortune to have been test driving cars for manufacturers for almost 15 years now, and I’ve often said that I’ve driven a lot of beautiful cars; cars that stir the imagination and get the blood going. Just the fact that the Audi S5 is being reviewed in the Fast Car Forum section of our website should speak volumes about what I think of the car.

2006 Dodge Viper2006 Dodge Viper SRT10 Speaks loudly and carries a big stick
You know those cartoons with the hairy little caveman carrying around that huge bumpy club whacking the snot out of just about anything that gets in his way? Well, when I strapped myself into the all new 510 horse power Dodge Viper SRT 10 and hit the gas, the caveman in me took over!

Fast Car / Hot Rod ProductLife is too short, just drive
I’ve heard variations of that philosophy before of course, but never those exact words, and when I saw them for the first time, what followed blew me away. Part of what I read was; “maybe you’ve imagined yourself behind the wheel of a true Supercar like the Mercedes SLR McLaren.”

World Class Driving Event Sedona ArizonaRod's take on the World Class Driving Event in Sedona, Arizona
So we’re blasting up I-17 headed north bound in an SRT8 Chrysler 300C. We’re running a little late so I’m cruising at a “healthy rate” trying to make up for lost time, and with 425 ponies under the hood the mighty SRT8 isn’t even breathing hard.

Muscle Car CornerHow do you define a muscle car?
This as they say is just the beginning and as we kick off our Muscle Car Forum on the two for the road website, it stands to reason that we start by telling you what we know about what a muscle car is. We will be sharing our passion for these fabulous machines and featuring reader’s stories about their cars on this site and we want to hear from you about yours or someone you know that lives and breaths muscle cars...

Dodge Caliber Muscle CarTo be, or not to be, a Muscle Car
Why am I writing about a Dodge Caliber in the muscle car section? Well, it’s because of talk about the SRT4 version of the Caliber coming out which I hear people referring to as a muscle car. I’ll let that argument go for the moment, but let’s address the Caliber in general and then get into the “muscle car” talk...

Chevrolet Camaro Muscle Car2009 Camaro
One of my sons owned a ‘69 Camaro and after leaving for the Navy, I had the pleasure of building it while he was gone.  Rod, who writes with me on Muscle Car Forum helped coordinate the project and we ended up with a pretty nifty 402 big block that was a very nice set up...

Comments from our Readers...

Checking out your web site on the definition of muscle cars got me thinking more about the people who engineered them than the cars themselves. Early automotive engineers were focused on basic form and function. But somewhere in the process a few of them began to look toward superior performance and ways to go quicker and faster working with what they had available to them. More carburetors, higher compression, better cam profiles, dual exhaust etc.

I believe these efforts in the 40's & 50's were what made the 60's muscle cars possible. Maybe the G.T.O. wasn't the beginning , maybe it was the coming out party. The tri-power dual quad crossram fuel injected 4 speed factory cars of the 50's were an important part of the early development. But were these attempts really muscle cars? I don't know but I doubt something as simple as horsepower to weight ratio can adequately define this exciting revolution in automotive history. Maybe a better definition would be attitude. Attitude of the cars and of those who developed them.
